Robert A. Carmen Curiosity in Antiquity

Your help is needed, friends: Calling all historians! (Especially those who love Rochester,NY History or even Civil War History) I would like to dedicate a corner of my gallery to the local history brought to life through art. I would want a new mini exhibit monthly so there is PLENTY of room for everyone for years to come!

My father, Robert Carmen – was a dedicated historian. Before he suddenly passed away in March 2014, we discussed having an exhibit of this nature. I would like to honor him and his ideas and bring this idea to life.

His love of history was an inspiration to many, including me. He was a long time member of Genesee Country Museum, studied history at the U of R and owned countless books on the history of Rochester as well as the Civil War.

If you or someone you know share this same passion please consider helping me with this very important mission. I am looking for art that is related to the above topics. All media will be considered. Please contact me with images- Susan@Createart4good.org

Thank you so very much for making dreams come true!

  1. I am an artist and art teacher locally. I work in a variety of media and subject matter. I do have 6 landscapes that are done in Pastel en plein air from sites such as Durand Eastman Park, Seneca Park and Highland Park. Would displaying these fit your criteria?

    • Rosemary, thanks so much for your question- it just might! The main criteria for this would be to tie the art along with some sort of reference to history. Also you would be welcome to submit work for an exhibition of your own. If you are interested, please write me at Susan@Createart4good.org and I will send you the appropriate forms. Thanks so much for your interest! Blessings, Susan
